Dr. Martin Horler BSc (Hons)., DClinPsychol., CPsychol

Somerset Psychology Service was founded by Dr Martin Horler. Martin is a Chartered Consultant Clinical Psychologist with a wide variety of experience in different adult mental health services since qualifying in 2002. He has provided therapy for the NHS in primary care, acute psychiatry, private specialist services and forensic settings. He has been the lead Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Head of Department at a low secure psychiatric hospital, as well as providing medico-legal reports for courts and Mental Health Review Tribunals.

Martin has experience of providing therapy for a wide range of problems and is trained in a variety of different therapies. He has taught on Clinical Psychology training courses on the subjects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Childhood Sexual Abuse. He has written guidance documents on working in Crisis Resolution Home Treatment teams and has published and been guest editor of the Clinical Psychology Forum journal.

Martin has had an active role on the committee of the Psychosis & Complex Mental Health Faculty within the British Psychology Society. He is also a Full Member of the Division of Clinical Psychology of the British Psychological Society, and is a Registered Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
